The Environmental Protection Agency is setting a two-year deadline for States and Tribes to adopt new emission standards for solid waste incinerators. The standards apply to existing facilities built on or before August thirty-first, twenty twenty that haven't been significantly reconstructed since late August twenty twenty-five. Jurisdictions must submit an approvable plan by June thirtieth, twenty twenty-seven. If they don't, the EPA will develop and enforce its own federal requirements.
