Federal Plan Requirements for Other Solid Waste Incineration Units That Commenced Construction on or Before August 31, 2020, and Have Not Been Modified or Reconstructed After August 29, 2025

The Environmental Protection Agency is setting a two-year deadline for States and Tribes to adopt new emission standards for solid waste incinerators. The standards apply to existing facilities built on or before August thirty-first, twenty twenty that haven't been significantly reconstructed since late August twenty twenty-five. Jurisdictions must submit an approvable plan by June thirtieth, twenty twenty-seven. If they don't, the EPA will develop and enforce its own federal requirements.
