FDA issues most serious recall alert for potato chip brands over salmonella risk

health

The FDA has upgraded its recall alert for several popular potato chip brands to its most serious level due to salmonella contamination risk. Roughly six hundred fifty thousand bags of Utz's Zapp's and Dirty varieties are affected. The contamination stems from dry milk powder used in the seasoning mix, sourced from a third party. The manufacturer issued a voluntary recall in May; the FDA's upgrade reflects the seriousness of the potential health risk.
