FCA ordered to partly suspend car finance compensation scheme

According to The Guardian, a British court has ordered the Financial Conduct Authority to partly suspend its nine point one billion pound car finance compensation scheme. The suspension delays payouts to millions of motorists affected by a lending scandal where drivers were overcharged for car loans between two thousand seven and twenty twenty-four. The FCA had expected to begin paying out an average of eight hundred thirty pounds to affected drivers this year, but legal challenges to the scheme have now put those payouts on hold pending court review.
