The World Health Organization has declared an end to a hantavirus outbreak linked to the cruise ship MV Hondius. According to The Guardian, the outbreak infected thirteen people and killed three. The virus—Andes hantavirus, a rare strain typically found in Argentina and Chile—spread after the ship departed from Argentina in April. The WHO made the declaration after the final exposed contact completed quarantine and tested negative for the virus.
