Dangerous heatwave to bring record temperatures across eastern US

According to the National Weather Service, a prolonged and dangerous heatwave is intensifying across the central and eastern United States. Temperatures are expected to reach ninety-five to one hundred five degrees Fahrenheit, but with high humidity, heat index values could climb as high as one hundred fifteen degrees—particularly across the midwest, Ohio valley, and east coast. The dangerous conditions are expected to persist through the holiday weekend.
