"Secret in the Box," a period thriller about Hong Kong's nineteen seventy-four Happy Valley Box Murder, held its press conference at the Shanghai Film Festival this week. The film stars Zhang Songwen and is directed by Frankie Tam. According to Variety, it's competing in the festival's Golden Goblet Awards main competition—one of several contemporary films drawing from real historical crimes.
