Jacinta Allan admits criminals infiltrated Big Build but rejects calls for royal commission

Victoria's Premier Jacinta Allan has acknowledged that criminals infiltrated some of the state's largest construction projects, part of what the Labor government dubbed the Big Build. In an opinion piece, Allan apologized for the infiltration and alleged corruption involving unions and labour hire companies. However, she rejected growing calls for a royal commission to investigate, arguing it wouldn't solve the underlying issues. According to The Guardian World, Allan said she's focusing on preventative measures instead.
