Two major developments. Across the United States, a severe heat wave is threatening July Fourth celebrations this weekend. And in Eastern Europe, Russia has conducted strikes on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, killing several people in what it describes as retaliatory attacks, according to NPR News.
