Two people dead and a third injured in shooting at Michigan shopping mall

A shooting at a Dearborn, Michigan shopping mall left two people dead and another injured on Thursday, according to The Guardian. Police say the violence erupted during a fight between two groups of young people who knew each other. The incident coincided with Fourth of July weekend, historically the most violent period for gun violence in the United States—in twenty twenty-four alone, more than five hundred shootings were recorded over the Independence Day holiday.
