Rebel attacks in northern Mali: Some targets meant as 'diversions', expert says

However, a research fellow at the Clingendael Conflict Research Unit suggests some of these attacks may be tactical diversions rather than primary targets — with strategically important locations like Anefis likely representing the rebels' true objectives.
