According to Channel NewsAsia, architect Giovanni Gunawan recently completed a home in Surabaya, Indonesia that brings Australian design principles to the tropics. The owner sought the openness and transparency characteristic of Australian architecture, but the hot, humid climate and desire for privacy demanded adaptation. Gunawan merged both approaches, creating spaces that honor family living and respond to the climate while maintaining the honest, clean lines of Australian design.
