Cow corner: cricket match abandoned after runaway bull stops play

A cricket match in Burnopfield near Newcastle had to be abandoned on Saturday after an eight-hundred kilogram bull escaped from a nearby farm and stormed the playing field. According to the Guardian, the North East Premier League fixture couldn't continue after the animal charged at players, and despite efforts to remove the bull from the ground, the match was called off.
