Rodríguez defends Venezuela’s emergency earthquake response as number of bodies expected to soar

According to the Guardian, Venezuela's interim president has defended her country's emergency response to twin earthquakes that have killed more than three thousand people. Many Venezuelans have criticized what they view as an inadequate initial government response before international rescue teams arrived. Despite the widespread anger, the president has vowed the nation will not descend into social unrest.
