Sky owner announces £1.6bn takeover of ITV’s broadcasting arm
business
According to The Guardian, Sky—the television service owned by American telecoms giant Comcast—is acquiring ITV's broadcasting and streaming division for one point six billion pounds. The deal includes ITV's free-to-air channels and the ITVX streaming platform, creating the UK's biggest commercial broadcaster. Sky will pay one point two billion pounds upfront, with up to two hundred million pounds more in late twenty twenty-eight, depending on advertising revenue. It's a significant consolidation in British commercial broadcasting.
