Revealed: landmark Scottish AI project has no prospect of meeting renewables promise

According to The Guardian, a landmark Scottish artificial intelligence project has no realistic way of keeping its clean-energy pledge. When the eight point two billion pound datacentre complex in Lanarkshire was announced in January by the US firm CoreWeave and the Scottish company DataVita, the government promised it would be powered entirely from on-site renewables and completed by twenty thirty. But a Guardian investigation found that officials and developers privately acknowledged the site had a power provision issue, and that the plan to channel a nuclear reactor's worth of electricity to rural Scotland had been misrepresented. The development had been billed as a source of jobs and prosperity for the area.
