According to France 24, Nobel Prize-winning chemist Omar Yaghi is joining Tsinghua University in Beijing to lead a new artificial intelligence research center. Yaghi, who won the twenty twenty-five Nobel Prize in Chemistry for developing metal-organic frameworks, made his unlikely journey from a Palestinian refugee family in Amman, Jordan, to professorships at major American universities including UC Berkeley. This week's announcement marks a significant shift in his career focus toward artificial intelligence research.
