Moldova speeds up its membership process to the EU

According to France 24, Moldova is accelerating its path to EU membership, beginning negotiations on its first accession chapter. Economically fragile and facing Russian pressure, the country is pushing for rapid progress. The EU is supporting the effort with an investment plan worth one point nine billion euros, but it comes with conditions: Moldova must implement domestic structural reforms. Brussels hopes the investment will attract business and drive the systemic changes needed for membership.
