world
According to The Guardian, a wave of Russian missiles and drones struck Kyiv today, killing nineteen people and heavily damaging apartment blocks and other buildings. Thirteen of the dead were in the capital itself, Russia's main target, with fifty-six injured, according to the city's administrative head. Another six people were killed in the wider Kyiv region, where twenty-one more were injured. It was the second assault on the capital and surrounding area within days, and it comes on the eve of a NATO summit in Turkey. The Guardian reports the strikes have exposed widening gaps in Ukraine's air defences.
