Zelenskyy calls for ‘strong decisions’ at Nato summit as Russia kills 21 in overnight strikes on Kyiv – Europe live
world
According to The Guardian, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy is urging what he calls "strong decisions" from allies ahead of this week's NATO summit in Ankara, where he's expected to meet Trump on the sidelines. The appeal comes after overnight Russian strikes on Kyiv killed twenty-one people. Separately, the United Kingdom has announced sanctions against Russian actors tied to the research, development, and production of the novichok nerve agent and the toxin Epibatidine — substances linked to the Salisbury attack and the poisonings of Dawn Sturgess and Alexei Navalny. The measures target a Russian state scientific research institute along with three individuals. British officials described Russia's repeated use of chemical weapons as a violation of international law and a threat to global security.
