According to The Guardian, shares in the budget airline easyJet jumped nearly ten percent after its board agreed to a takeover worth five point five billion pounds. The US private equity firm Castlelake won over the board at the fifth attempt, offering six pounds ninety pence a share, after four earlier bids — some as low as five pounds sixty — were rejected. The shares had closed at six pounds ten on Monday. Analysts told the paper the deal is another sign that British firms are being snapped up on the cheap.
