According to The Guardian World, the United States' Fourth of July weekend, which coincided with the nation's two hundred and fiftieth anniversary, was marred by outbreaks of gun violence that left at least forty-three people dead and many more wounded. Among the injured were a woman and a child, two of four people shot during a gathering of Mexico soccer supporters in Los Angeles on Sunday night, following their team's elimination from the World Cup.
