Ivan Ostrochovský Talks ‘Only Beautiful Things to Look At’ About Forced Sterilization – and Its U.S. Remake: ‘This Was Happening All Around the World’

According to Variety, Slovak director Ivan Ostrochovský is developing a U.S. remake of his drama "Only Beautiful Things to Look At." The film, which premieres at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, is set in the nineteen eighties and follows a doctor, played by Aňa Geislerová, who begins to question the forced sterilization of Romani women in former Czechoslovakia. Ostrochovský notes that such practices were not confined to one country, remarking that this was happening all around the world.
