Australian PM says Chinese missile test could have caused ‘considerable damage’ if weaponised
world
According to The Guardian, China's test-firing of an intercontinental ballistic missile in the Pacific is drawing growing international condemnation. Australian prime minister Anthony Albanese said the weapon, launched Monday, could have caused considerable damage if it had been armed, and warned the test risks fuelling dangerous nuclear proliferation. China's state news agency Xinhua reported that a strategic missile carrying a dummy warhead had been fired from one of the navy's nuclear submarines. Beijing has told critics not to overinterpret the launch. The Solomon Islands prime minister pushed back too, saying he doesn't want to see more countries testing such missiles in the region, and adding: be our friend, but don't threaten us.
