Rebels seize key-town of Anéfis as they tighten grip on northern Mali

According to RFI English, Tuareg separatists and al-Qaeda-affiliated fighters appear to have seized control of the key northern Mali town of Anéfis, tightening their grip on the region after a coordinated offensive launched on Saturday. RFI English reports that Malian army troops and Russian mercenaries have been holed up in the camp at Anéfis since the rebels began their assault over the weekend.
