Iranian Doc ‘An Eye for an Eye’ About a Woman Who Killed Her Husband in Self-Defense Set For Oscar-Qualifying U.S. Release Via Jolt Film (EXCLUSIVE)

According to Variety, the Iranian documentary "An Eye for an Eye" has landed a U.S. distribution deal. New York–based distributor Jolt, which specializes in independent titles, has acquired the film for an Oscar-qualifying American release. Co-directed by Iranian-born American filmmaker Tanaz Eshaghian and Iran-based Farzad Jafari, the documentary follows a real courtroom case in Tehran centered on a woman who killed her husband in self-defense. The film earned a Special Jury mention at the Tribeca Festival in twenty twenty-five.
