According to Variety, the Iranian documentary "An Eye for an Eye" has landed a U.S. release. The film, which earned a Special Jury mention at the Tribeca Festival in twenty twenty-five, has been acquired by Jolt, a New York-based, AI-driven distributor focused on independent titles. The deal sets up an Oscar-qualifying run. Co-directed by Iranian-born American filmmaker Tanaz Eshaghian and Iran-based Farzad Jafari, the documentary follows a real courtroom case in Tehran centered on a woman who killed her husband in what she described as self-defense.
