Bombs explode near Damascus hotel housing Macron on Syria visit

According to The Guardian, explosions struck near a hotel in Damascus where the French president, Emmanuel Macron, was staying during a visit to Syria. Syrian authorities said two improvised explosive devices detonated close to the Four Seasons hotel, wounding at least eighteen people. Macron was reportedly at the presidential palace meeting the Syrian president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, when the blasts went off, and the visit was not interrupted.
