Mariska Hargitay to Host Emmys; First Woman to Emcee the Show In 15 Years

Mariska Hargitay, the star and executive producer of NBC's 'Law & Order: SVU,' will host the seventy-eighth Emmy Awards. According to Variety, this marks the first time a woman will helm the ceremony in fifteen years — the last female host was Jane Lynch in twenty eleven.
