Nato claims big rise in European defence spending as Trump says he is ‘very disappointed’ with it over Iran - Europe live

According to The Guardian, NATO says core defence spending by Europe and Canada has risen eleven percent, a figure the alliance is touting as evidence its members are stepping up. Even so, US President Donald Trump repeated his criticism of allies, saying he is very disappointed with Europe over Iran. The remarks came as a NATO industry event opened in Ankara, ahead of the leaders' summit itself.
