What to know about the electronic monitor a French court says Marine Le Pen must wear

According to France 24, a Paris appeals court has found far-right leader Marine Le Pen guilty of embezzlement, and ruled that she must wear an electronic ankle monitor — even if she decides to run for the presidency. Under French law, electronic home detention bars a person from leaving their home, or another designated location, except during hours the judge specifically authorizes. In practice, it means her movements would be tethered to a court-set schedule.
