Jermaine Dupri Sues Sony Music for $18 Million Over Unpaid Mariah Carey, Usher Royalties

According to Variety, producer Jermaine Dupri has filed an eighteen million dollar lawsuit against Sony Music Entertainment, accusing the company of failing to properly pay royalties on releases from artists including Mariah Carey, Usher, Xscape and Kris Kross. The suit, filed Monday, alleges Sony's dealings with Dupri have, in his words, not been lawful, with the claims reaching back years. Sony has not publicly responded.
