Quaise Energy raises $134M to fuel superhot geothermal ambitions

According to Canary Media, the Houston-based startup Quaise Energy has raised one hundred thirty-four million dollars to advance its first superhot geothermal power plant, planned for central Oregon. The company says this is the first tranche of its Series B round, bringing its total funding to two hundred thirty million dollars. Quaise is developing a fifty-megawatt plant, betting that drilling deep enough to tap superhot rock can unlock geothermal energy almost anywhere.
