Marine Le Pen to run for presidency and appeal against conviction in France’s highest court

According to The Guardian, French far-right leader Marine Le Pen has declared she will run for president in twenty twenty-seven, even as a court orders her to wear an electronic ankle tag for embezzling European parliament funds. "Tonight, I am a candidate in the presidential election," the fifty-seven-year-old told TF1 television. Le Pen also said she will appeal her sentence to France's highest court.
