Body of missing 18-year-old Nolan Wells found on Mississippi island

According to The Guardian, the search for a missing Mississippi teenager has ended in tragedy. Eighteen-year-old Nolan Wells, a college freshman from Ocean Springs, went on a Fourth of July boat trip with friends to Horn Island, a barrier island about ten miles off the Gulf coast. His friends returned home that evening, but Wells did not, prompting his mother to report him missing and appeal for help on social media. The two-day search drew national attention before a body was found on the island on Monday. On Tuesday, Wells's mother, Christine Wonsley, identified the body as her son. In a Facebook post, she said the family was, in her words, absolutely devastated, describing Nolan as a special soul who was always willing to cheer and uplift others.
