The Hastings Museum Kool-Aid Exhibit in Hastings, Nebraska
other
According to Atlas Obscura, Hastings, Nebraska is home to the birthplace of Kool-Aid. Edwin Perkins invented the drink in nineteen twenty-seven, originally calling it Fruit-Ade. He transformed a leaky syrup product into powder packets, inspired by Jell-O. When the Great Depression hit, Perkins dropped the price to five cents per packet and saw profits soar. The Hastings Museum now honors the invention with an exhibit called Kool-Aid: Discover the Dream, featuring vintage packaging, advertisements, and even the original Kool-Aid Man suit.
