According to The Guardian, Australian house prices are falling after a decade of steep growth. Major banks predict drops of two to three percent by year's end. But the relief is limited—the average house now costs more than seventeen years of a typical household's disposable income. And even with these recent declines, homes remain roughly double what they cost a decade ago.
