Investigations into former anti-corruption chief Paul Brereton nixed over cost concerns

According to The Guardian, Australia's National Anti-Corruption Commission has ended two investigations into complaints against former commissioner Paul Brereton. The NACC inspector, Gail Furness, said the inquiries would discontinue following Brereton's resignation and because systemic issues identified in the complaints have been satisfactorily addressed. She also noted the commission could not justify the continued expense.
