Photo of bound Palestinian detainee corroborates Israeli torture reports, say rights groups

According to The Guardian, rights groups say a newly surfaced photograph corroborates extensive reports of Israeli torture of Palestinians held in detention. The image, taken by an Israeli soldier, shows a man from Gaza stripped to his underwear, blindfolded, and bound face-down to an iron rod. It was posted to a since-deleted personal social media account with a Hebrew caption reading "good morning," and drew wider attention after being circulated by a Palestinian writer and activist. The Guardian reports that rights groups say the photograph itself may amount to a war crime.
