Nato summit: Trump says US could let Ukraine make Patriots and renews criticism of Spain and UK – Europe live

At the NATO summit, US President Donald Trump said the United States could allow Ukraine to manufacture its own Patriot air-defense systems. According to The Guardian, Trump also renewed his criticism of two allies, calling Spain "very bad" over its stance on the Iran conflict and saying the United Kingdom's approach was "not in the spirit of Winston Churchill." He praised Turkey's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and its military strength, and offered unexpected praise for China. Separately, Trump repeated his call for the US to take over Greenland as he arrived for the gathering. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte closed the briefing by noting he would hold his own press conference if anyone was interested.
