According to Variety, Microsoft cut roughly one thousand six hundred jobs across its Xbox division this week, including hundreds of unionized video game workers represented by the Communications Workers of America. The union says it is extremely disappointed with Xbox leadership over the layoffs. The cuts are part of what new CEO Asha Sharma calls the most significant restructure in the division's history, and they fold into about four thousand eight hundred job losses announced across Microsoft overall.
