Marine Le Pen will run for election in 2027. Will she have to wear an electronic tag?
politics
According to The Guardian, Marine Le Pen says she's running. A Paris appeals court has upheld the far-right leader's conviction for overseeing a scheme that misused more than four million euros of European Union funds — but it also cleared the way for her to stand in France's twenty twenty-seven presidential election. Written off by many after that conviction, Le Pen insisted there was, in her words, no scenario in which she would not be a candidate. It would be her fourth run at the presidency. One open question, The Guardian notes, is whether she may have to campaign while wearing an electronic tag.
