Pierpaolo Piccioli’s couture debut reimagines Balenciaga in his own colourful image

Pierpaolo Piccioli unveiled his debut couture collection for Balenciaga, bringing sculptural silhouettes and vibrant colors to the storied fashion house. According to The Guardian, the Italian designer spent twenty-five years as creative director at Valentino before taking the helm. He spent nine months developing this collection, drawing inspiration from classic Balenciaga pieces, Spanish golden age paintings by Velázquez and Zurbarán, and the abstract sculptor Henry Moore.
