Police investigate £37,500 donation to Jenrick leadership campaign

According to The Guardian, the Metropolitan Police have opened an investigation into thirty-seven thousand five hundred pounds in donations made to Robert Jenrick's 2024 campaign for the Conservative leadership. The inquiry follows a referral from the elections watchdog, which flagged allegations that the money came from a foreign source. The Guardian reported in April that police were assessing the evidence before confirming this week that a formal investigation is now under way. Jenrick, who ran for the Conservative leadership in 2024, has since joined Reform UK.
