US military launches fresh strikes on Iran – Middle East crisis live

According to The Guardian, the US military has launched a fresh round of strikes on Iran, hours after President Trump threatened further military action while speaking at the NATO summit. The Pentagon says the strikes follow an Iranian attack on ships in the Strait of Hormuz the previous day. Iranian state media reported explosions near the coastal areas of Konarak and Chabahar, and said air defenses were engaging what they described as hostile targets near Bandar Abbas.
