Graham Platner ends Maine Senate campaign after sexual assault allegation

According to The Guardian, Graham Platner, the Democratic nominee for US Senate in Maine, is suspending his campaign after a woman accused him of sexual assault. Platner, a Marine veteran and oyster farmer, announced the decision in an eleven-minute video posted to social media on Wednesday evening. His candidacy had been shadowed by controversy since he entered the race last year.
