According to Variety, actor Patrick Dempsey has revealed that he gave real thought to running for Senate in Maine. Writing in an op-ed for the Portland Press Herald, Dempsey said he considered a bid after the state's Democratic nominee, Graham Platner, was hit with sexual assault allegations. Dempsey wrote that he's concerned about the direction the country is heading, but ultimately decided to leave the job to someone more qualified.
