Middle East crisis live: Trump threatens ‘much worse’ to come amid renewed US strikes; sirens sound in Kuwait and Bahrain
world
According to The Guardian, President Trump has warned of much worse to come as US forces carried out a renewed wave of strikes on Iran, which he described as retribution after ships were hit in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian state media reported explosions across several locations, and air raid sirens sounded in Kuwait and Bahrain. An unnamed US official told Reuters, as cited by The Guardian, that Wednesday's strikes were expected to be greater in number than the previous day's. In Tehran, residents told the paper they are living in fear of attacks on residential areas, sleeping lightly with packed bags by the door, unsure when they may need to flee. One young Iranian said her generation has grown up amid sanctions, protests, and internet shutdowns, and now missiles, adding, we are not statistics, we are people trying to work, study, and plan a future.
