NASA Awards Contracts for Mars Advanced Surface Mobility Technology

NASA is enlisting the private sector to help its rovers get around the Red Planet. According to NASA News, the agency has selected seven companies for contract awards under a new initiative called STRIDE — short for Science Transport and Robotic Innovation for Deployment and Exploration. Announced yesterday, the awards are part of the Mars Exploration Program and aim to develop next-generation commercial robotic mobility for future missions on the Martian surface.
