According to RFI English, a French appeals court this week upheld Marine Le Pen's conviction for embezzling European Parliament funds and sentenced her to house arrest — a penalty the far-right leader had said would knock her out of France's 2027 presidential race. But the story isn't over: Le Pen still has one final legal recourse to overturn the conviction, and pending that appeal she remains free to campaign.
