According to The Guardian, hundreds of venomous snakes have escaped from breeding farms in southern China after typhoon Maysak flooded the region. In Hengzhou, in Guangxi province, cobras and king ratsnakes—among the escaped animals—prompted warnings for nearby residents following days of heavy rainfall.
